Gone Fishin'

I launched this blog 4 months ago (and I'm still cleaning the champagne out of the carpet). After 60 posts and 3,000 visits I'm going to take a week to go fishing. Figuratively, at least.

Gone Fishin'

There's a sign upon your door

Gone Fishin'
You ain't working anymore

There's your hoe out in the sun
Where you left a row half done
You claim that hoeing ain't no fun
You ain't got no ambition

Gone Fishin'
By a shady, wady pool
I'm wishing I could be that kind of fool
I'd say no more work for mine
On my door I'd hang a sign
Gone Fishin'
Instead of just a-wishing

Gone Fishin'
There's a sign upon your door
Gone  Fishin'
You ain't working any more

Cows need milking in the barn
But you just don't give a darn
You just never seem to learn
You ain't got no ambition

You've gone fishin'

Got your hound dog by your side
Gone fishin'
Fleas are biting at his hide
Folks won't find us now because
Mr. Satch and Mr. Cros, we
Gone fishin' instead of just a-wishing.
