A Million Dreams - Part II

I woke up with these words in my head last week and posted them as a poem. I considered it kind of a silly post but the funny thing is within a couple of days it was one of the most viewed posts in my two years of blogging. At the time I knew they were more song lyrics than poetry so I tried putting them to music. I had a couple of melodies I'd been kicking around and tried fitting the words to them but no dice. The words already had a rhythm to them and it's a pretty simple one, so I strung a simple C-F-G chord pattern together and came up with this song. When I recorded it I started whistling at the end. I liked the notes enough that I went back and sprinkled them throughout the recording.

If I had a million bucks
I would give it all away
And run naked through the woods
Just to have something to do

If I had a million dreams
I would spend a million years
Trying to make them all come true
Maybe I already do

If I had a million dreams
Maybe I already do

If I had a million words
I would weigh them on my tongue
Trying to find the perfect one
I could say to only you

I'd say it a million times
In a million different ways
If I had a million dreams
Maybe I already do

I I had a million dreams
Maybe I already do

If I had a million dreams
I would make them all come true
Just so I could say to you
A million times
A million ways
In naked woods
Our perfect word
I would give it all to you

If I had a million dreams
Maybe I already do
If I had a million dreams
Maybe I already do
