2015/2016 - The Old Man & The Baby

Father Time is growing old and Baby New Year is a drain on his energy. Father Time loves his baby notwithstanding.

The old man has seen a lot. Too much. He's seen more than he ever wanted to see. He'll find sweet relief in the act of closing his eyes forever.

The baby is ignorant and insatiable. He cries and eats. He feeds on life. The one born last year ate Kings - B.B. & Ben E; he ate Yogis & Lemmys; he ate Leslie Gore & Leonard Nimoy, Chris Squire, Maureen O'Hara, & Allen Toussaint. The baby born this year might eat me. He might eat you. Or someone you love.

Welcome to the New Year, 2016. May he be kind to you and yours.

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
I want to be with you
Be with you, night and day

Nothing changes on New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
I will be with you again
I will be with you again

Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says

Say it's true, it's true
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one

I will begin again
I will begin again

Maybe the time is right
Maybe tonight

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

And so we're told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
